Sixteen-year-old Rhiannon falls in love with A, a mysterious spirit who inhabits a different body Fifty Shades Freed. Feeling an unmatched connection, Rhiannon and A try to find each other on a daily basis, always unsure of what or who the next day will bring. Soon, the realities of loving someone who is a different person every 24 hours starts to take its toll, leaving Rhiannon and A to face the hardest decision either has ever had to make.
Fifty Shades Freed isn't out for a little over a week, but many fans of the franchise have already read E.L. James' book series and have some idea of what to expect from the third and final flick in the trilogy. However, if you aren't much of a reader, the third movie is going to be a little different than its predecessors and recently Jamie Dornan went on The Ellen Show to explain exactly what will be different in Fifty Shades Freed. Per the actor,
We've already gotten trailers for Fifty Shades Freed. Those trailers have revealed everything from a wedding to fabulous settings, and even the news that a baby is going to be on the way for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. In the past, Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker have spent a lot of time delving into the two main character's sex lives, and while Jamie Dornan does say we'll get some hanky panky, the third movie also desires to be a thriller.
So, how does a movie tie together kinky bedroom sex and crazy, high-octane adventure sequences? Pretty deftly, it seems. Jamie Dornan also elaborated that he heard the third book title has even more sex than the other two from a fan, but that the movie still makes room for a lot more, noting,
Someone was asking me recently, telling me that there's more sex in the third [book] than any of the other two. But I don't know. I don't sit there with a timer like, clock it... but there's definitely like a thriller aspect to this one, there's like really fun car chases. And someone gets kidnapped. Here's lot's happening this time.
It's natural for Fifty Shades Freed to be a little darker and more of a thriller, not to mention an explosive climax to the series. Fifty Shades Darker already started pushing into that territory a little with its stalker plotline, and the new movie then should naturally rev into gear with that concept. The movie should feature more of Christian's sister Mia this time around, and Jack Hyde will be making a comeback. As Jamie Dornan promises on The Ellen Show, there will also be a kidnapping. So, really there will be quite a lot to get through in an hour and 45 minutes.
We'll be able to see the final product soon enough. Fifty Shades Freed officially hits theaters on February 9, just in time for Valentines' Day. While you wait to catch the flick, you can see what other movies are coming up with our full guide.
